A Petrified Forest in Altamonte Springs, Florida, is preparing to open “Drawn to Death,” a new Halloween scare trail that reimagines cheerful cartoon imagery as horror.
The attraction is part of A Petrified Forest’s 19th season, which begins Oct. 2 and runs on select nights through Oct. 31. The independent haunt is introducing three completely new scare trails for 2026: “Drawn to Death,” “The Craving” and “Last Responders.” Regular admission includes all three trails.
According to Attractions Magazine, an early look at “Drawn to Death” revealed a wooded, cartoon-inspired setting filled with oversized props. One scene includes a large rocket marked “ACME,” a fictional company associated with the elaborate devices featured in Warner Bros.’ “Looney Tunes” cartoons. A massive blue furry creature is also shown lying across a wooden crate.
Promotional material for the trail features a sinister yellow bear-like character alongside the “Drawn to Death” title. A behind-the-scenes view of A Petrified Forest’s workshop also showed masks depicting a yellow bear and a pink pig. The haunt has not identified those figures as specific characters, although their appearance may remind some guests of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet.
A Petrified Forest describes the trail as a setting where cheerful Saturday morning cartoon characters escape the screen and reality becomes a “demented Technicolor nightmare.” The attraction’s name also creates an Orlando-area contrast with “Drawn to Life,” the Cirque du Soleil and Disney show at Disney Springs centered on Disney animation.
Attractions Magazine reported that A Petrified Forest tears down and rebuilds its attractions each year, making the environments for the 2026 season all-new. The haunt is also expanding its lineup of add-on experiences this year.
A Petrified Forest is located at 1360 E. Altamonte Drive in Altamonte Springs. The 2026 season opens Oct. 2.
