Fun Spot America has confirmed that ArieForce One has been sold, but the Rocky Mountain Construction roller coaster’s next home remains undisclosed.
The announcement came Thursday, Sept. 3, following the Aug. 2 closure of Fun Spot America Atlanta. In a social media video, Fun Spot America CEO John Arie Jr. appeared with an ArieForce One-branded shovel while an on-screen message announced the sale and invited coaster fans to guess where the attraction might go.
Fun Spot America has not identified the buyer, disclosed the sale price or announced where the coaster will be rebuilt. The company had previously indicated that it was working to find ArieForce One a new home after the Atlanta park’s closure.
The lack of details has led enthusiasts to speculate about possible destinations in the United States and Europe. Cotaland, the developing amusement park at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, was among the locations mentioned in comments on Fun Spot’s announcement. Wild Adventures was also suggested, which would keep the coaster in Georgia.
Other parks named in the discussion included Six Flags Great Adventure, Dorney Park, Kings Island, Michigan’s Adventure and Worlds of Fun. Six Flags St. Louis—identified in the report as preparing to operate under new ownership and the name Mid America Adventure—was another repeated suggestion. Coaster enthusiasts had previously floated that park as a possible destination for ArieForce One.
Several of the parks mentioned by fans are part of the Enchanted Parks portfolio: Michigan’s Adventure, Worlds of Fun and Mid America Adventure. Some commenters speculated generally that the coaster could move to one of the Enchanted Parks. However, none of those parks, or any other destination, has been confirmed as the buyer.
Attractions Magazine reported that it had contacted Fun Spot America for additional information, including a statement or interview about the coaster’s future. For now, the sale confirms that ArieForce One will have a new owner, while its eventual location and rebuilding plans remain unknown.
