Tokyo Disneyland has revealed the new costumes for Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy ahead of the debut of “The D-Groovationz4 Live: Happy! Funky! Groovy! Tour,” a song-and-dance show scheduled to begin September 30. The Tokyo Disneyland entertainment program will be presented at Showbase in Tomorrowland. According to WDW News Today, the show will feature live vocals from the vocal and dance group The D-Groovationz4 alongside performances by the Disney characters. The costumes use multiple asymmetrical layers and combine various fabrics, curves, and straight lines. Their overall design centers on chrome tones with purple and blue accents, while each character receives a distinct signature color. Donald’s costume includes cyan blue, Mickey’s features red, Minnie’s includes pink, and Goofy’s incorporates orange. Tokyo Disneyland shared the first detailed look at the outfits in an official Instagram post promoting the upcoming production. The designs are intended to give the characters a cool appearance while retaining playful elements for the live show. New character plush badges will also be released alongside the stage show’s debut. The merchandise recreates the costumes in miniature, with each badge reflecting details from its corresponding character’s performance outfit. Mickey’s plush badge includes a jacket, chrome shoes, and a multicolored hat. Minnie’s design uses white, blue, purple, and pink, along with pink shoes, a multicolored skirt and top, and a bow on her left ear. Donald’s badge features a colorful hat and jacket, with light-blue translucent elements around his waist. Goofy’s badge brings together colors seen across the other costumes, with orange added to several stripes on his jacket. “The D-Groovationz4 Live: Happy! Funky! Groovy! Tour” is scheduled to premiere for Tokyo Disneyland guests on September 30 at Showbase.
