Theme Park Report

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will close for a seasonal shutdown on Wednesday, September 9, making this weekend the water park’s final scheduled operating period before the closure. WDW News Today reports that Disney has not announced a reopening date for Typhoon Lagoon. The water park resumed operation on May 12 earlier this year. Seasonal closures are used to allow Disney’s water parks to undergo maintenance and refurbishment during the slower season, according to the report. Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, September 4; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 5; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 6; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, September 7 and 8. Saturday’s schedule also includes H2O Glow After Hours from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. The report lists the event as part of Typhoon Lagoon’s final weekend programming before the seasonal closure. Disney’s other water park, Blizzard Beach, will remain open. Resort hotel guests can also receive free water park admission on their check-in day through September 8, according to WDW News Today.
