Construction walls now surround the Frontierland boardwalk at Magic Kingdom, cutting off access between Liberty Square and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The project is part of the development of Piston Peak National Park, where two Cars-themed attractions are planned.
Magic Kingdom’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and its two adjacent gift shops are scheduled to close November 2, 2026, for refurbishment. BlogMickey reports that the attraction is expected to reopen sometime in December, although Disney has not provided an exact reopening date in the supplied reports.
The Walt Disney World Railroad will be out of service at Magic Kingdom from September 28 through October 29, 2026, with a planned reopening on October 30. The train has operated in a reduced shuttle mode since July 2025 and is expected to return to that arrangement after the closure.
