Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom is scheduled to close for refurbishment beginning Monday, November 2, 2026, along with the attraction’s two adjacent gift shops, Tiana’s Bayou General and Critter Co-Op.
The closure is listed on Walt Disney World’s operational calendar, according to BlogMickey and WDW News Today. The reports describe the work as the attraction’s first major or extended refurbishment since it opened at Magic Kingdom in 2024.
BlogMickey reports that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is expected to reopen sometime in December 2026. No specific reopening date was provided, and WDW News Today did not report a reopening window. The attraction’s two nearby shops are listed with the same November 2 closure date.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened at Magic Kingdom on June 28, 2024, replacing Splash Mountain in Frontierland. Since opening, the ride has experienced periods of downtime and early closures, according to BlogMickey. WDW News Today also noted that the attraction closed early on several dates in January and February 2025 rather than undergoing a complete closure.
The November timing comes earlier than the January or February schedule often used for water-ride refurbishments, BlogMickey reported. However, neither outlet provided details about the specific work planned for the attraction, including whether any ride systems, scenes, effects, or audio-animatronics will be changed.
The refurbishment will take place as other changes continue in Frontierland. BlogMickey reported that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened in May following a lengthy refurbishment, while construction continues on Piston Peak National Park in the former Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island area. Disney has said that project will include a new waterway running past Tiana’s Bayou Adventure toward the Frontierland boardwalk.
