Construction is continuing on an unnamed Coco-themed ride at Disney California Adventure, where crews have been digging a deep trench and clearing debris from the future attraction site, according to WDW News Today.
The project is located on the west side of the park between IncrediCoaster and Disneyland Drive. An excavator was recently working along the trench, while a second excavator cleared rocks elsewhere on the site.
The construction area previously included trees and shrubbery, a sidewalk and trailer offices. On the Disneyland Drive side of the fencing, crews have begun planting new trees alongside smaller plants. The landscaping may help limit views of the work area from the road, although the source did not report that Disney has identified this as the purpose of the plantings.
A forklift and two concrete trucks were also visible closer to the park. WDW News Today noted that the equipment could indicate upcoming pavement or foundation work, but Disney has not confirmed what those vehicles will be used for.
Disney has not announced the attraction’s official name or opening timeframe. The company has shared story details for the project at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event and has also teased Coco 2, though the supplied report does not establish additional details about the film or how it relates to the attraction.
